Follow these instructions if you have an older version
(prior to v. 1.2)
of EPICenter already installed. If you have Epicenter v.1.2+
installed on your computer, or you don't have EPICenter installed, skip steps 1-4.
This version is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7
(32bit/64bit).
First You must remove the existing EPIC drivers:
Cycle power on EPIC USB to cold boot.
1. With EPIC USB plugged in, go to device manager "Universal Serial
Bus Controllers"
2. Find "USB composite device" , right click, properties, details,
device Instance ID if the device is VID_A2C0 click "driver" tab and
uninstall.
3. Using Windows File Explorer go to "Windows\inf" directory; search
for all *.inf files containing VID_A2C0 , these will be OEMxx.INF
4. delete the OEMxx.INF that were found and the associated OEMxx.PNF
files.
5. unplug EPIC USB.
6. run
EPICenter_1401_Full.exe
7. plug in EPIC USB.
10. After successful install, RESTART Windows [this starts the
Windows service for the EPIC driver]
11. Start EPICenter.
12. In EPICenter, select menu item: "Options | Loader."
verify USBLOAD checksum is F40C, "verify USBLOAD checksum" is
checked; verify "unplug on load" is checked. Set operating system
delay to 4000, click "OK"
13. Select menu item "Tools | EPIC Info" if EPROM is Not 0x13BF
then do the following to update your EEPROM: select menu item "Tools | hardware | load EEPROM"; open "usbw13BF.bin," type in "13BF" without
quotes; exit EPICenter. You may get "new
hardware found" again and the drivers reloaded. If not, unplug then plugin the
USB cable.
